SEWA Cooperative Federation works as a Women’s Enterprise Support System (WESS), supporting women-led cooperatives and collective enterprises at different stages of their journeys. Our role is to strengthen institutions that are owned and governed by informal women workers.
Engagement with our WESS is shaped by context. Some cooperatives seek long-term accompaniment to strengthen governance, leadership, and enterprise planning. Others engage with specific areas such as market access, financial systems, or organisational processes.
Our work as a WESS draws from decades of experience across sectors and from ongoing learning with cooperatives navigating change. We do not offer one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we focus on building institutional capacity that allows cooperatives to adapt over time.
