SEWA Cooperative Federation promotes and supports grassroots women workers’ cooperatives and collective enterprises with a view of economically empowering women in the informal sector. Founded by Elaben Bhatt, the SEWA Cooperative Federation works as a Women’s Enterprise Support System and has supported over 110 women’s enterprises in 6 sectors reaching over 300,000 women workers. This film documents the 30 year history of SEWA Cooperative Federation and the impact on women’s enterprises and the women themselves. ‘In Solidarity’ is a story about solidarity and hope.
